@BrooklynSpoke I saw your twitter post re predictability. I totally agree. I live in the Seattle Suburbs and my work commute by transit was affected by traffic and bad design. I used my e-bike for a 25mile one-way commute to get the predictability and the flexibility to work odd hours. My job at the time often had me working till 7/8/9 PM. Transit to the suburbs drops off steeply after 5:30PM.

Driving is just insane and as a ex-NYer I won't.


I think one of the biggest benefits of car-free living is predictability. Yes, there are transit delays, but when you can walk or bike to most destinations, getting around takes exactly the amount of time you expect it to.

@BrooklynSpoke Making my commute a consistent 1h:20m at any time of day was invaluable. Also since most of that time was on the rail-to-trail Burke Gilman, it was incredibly good for my mental health.
