I usually don't ride this section of downhill since the bike lanes vanish over the . (Terwilliger -> Capitol brings you into this at 02:13.) But either way, you must occupy the full lane somewhere. Imagine if the curb lanes were priority / turn-only lanes, this could be so much nicer overnight.

And then you run out of bike lane again at the Naito split (If you cross over to the left fork, or use this double-jeopardy crosswalk, there is a bike lane on Barbur there into 4th Ave.) Mt Hood cameo at 01:44

This section is almost more terrifying when it's mostly empty like this than when it is stacked with standstill traffic. There were still 4 cars lined up at the stop sign to Ross Island bridge so it's not like anybody is getting somewhere sooner.
