I'm gonna keep ranting about the New Deal
80 years later the historical record is clear that pumping the working class with money works really well and has basically no downsides
the crazy thing is it doesn't have to be an emergency measure you can just fund a healthy working class, it's just policy.
The main reason they portray these policies as emergency measures is so they don't have to, because they don't want to. They want you as poor as you'll tolerate without burning their estates
You remember whose businesses were existentially threatened by enhanced unemployment benefits during the pandemic, right? Who threw a million workers into crematoriums over $1400?
It was people who rely on cheap labor to sell cheap food
If you don't have poor people a number of industries cease to exist (and they should)
If this were a twitter post doing these kinds of numbers 2 years ago I would definitely be arguing with a bunch of right-wingers enraged about inflation and money-printing right now
Not a peep from y'all
I am glad this resonated with everyone
Thank you
