Tuesday, April 22 🌹 Catching up

1. Made & froze quarts of (fabulous) bolognese sauce for future pasta delights. Took time & effort but it’s so much better than the expensive frozen dinners!
2. Relieved & happy to see all four squirrels show up for peanuts today — a hawk raided my garden yesterday & I was afraid it had kidnapped one.
3. Vagabond son & DIL will be here tomorrow for a week’s stay. 😬
4. Bonus: More roses brightening my days outside.

- Nearly finished the story of Indiana Jones so I can start collecting everything tomorrow (as well as catch up on my correspondence. It's been too long since I last wrote a letter!).

- Started making another bracelet and I made it easier by attaching it to a cushion with a safety pin. This sounds strange but makes the process much easier.

- Caught up on weeding the garden. Something has been digging tiny holes so I've left the poo camera in the flowerbed overnight to see if I can see a little mouse trying to fuck up my strawberries.

1. I actually went to pick up a collecting card in #WeWard. Not a lot of extra steps, but extra steps, nevertheless.
2. There will be pizza, readymade gluten free dough from the store, and leftover grilled chicken are the main ingredients.
3. Second child is visiting us here at home, which means we see her a little, and her old friends see her one day each. 😊🥰

1. Coyotes! Enjoy 6 seconds of my trail cam video below. Wait for the second coyote to run through glaring at the camera.

2. Two measures FAILED to pass a vote by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. Amendment 7 would have required participation in girls’ sports be limited to people born biologically female.

3. Amendment 8 would have created a separate division for transgender athletes.

Free good fings d'aujourd'hui

1. Did a yoga that took away a lot of the stiffness from my after-cycling body - back, neck, hamstrings, etc.

2. Mrs Roach found a dog-sitter for forthcoming holiday and the elaborate chocolador was really well behaved and excited when we went for our first visit, so I think that's a date.

3. Roach Minor turned 18, so that's 2 out of 3 parenting work products completed.

Hello there...every day that I use Mastodon, I like to list three things that I like as a contribution towards a positive online space, as well as my own headspace. If you did this today, what would feature on your list?

01. Had potato and chilli beans
02. watched "Mon Oncle" by Jacques Tati
03. my son got the Back To The Future trilogy on DVD

Hope whoever reads this can have a nice day.

1. Seeing most of my side of the family again yesterday. Such a balm for the soul. Mom was in such good spirits too.
2. Brushing our cat Shadow is such a delight. He goes absolutely nuts for the slicker brushes 😃
3. I was completely stunned to find my blog post “how to read more” while reading posts on the Bearblog trending page!

1) Got to see a favorite colleague today at work. We are not often in the same office at the same time.
2) Session with personal trainer - a neighbor who works out of the gym a few blocks away. Feeling pretty blessed that this is something I can do, even if it is temporary. (Counting the days to dojo training!)
3) Rewatched more #Shogun in my spouse’s studio while she worked on a piece for a show. Both her work and the series reveal more intricacies each viewing.

1. Saw "Flow" (2024) over the weekend, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My cat also watched and was intrigued.

2. Caught up now on "The Last of Us 2," which is staying true to the game, and I appreciate that because the game is so well written. Curious if that will continue (suspect so).

3. Feeling proud of my husband for experimenting more with Linux distros.
