A U of Regina professor and treaty rights exper says if a secession referendum came up in Saskatchewan, First Nations would take a strong stand against it, in the same way Indigenous people did during the separatist movement in Quebec in the 1970s.

Alberta may be landlocked now, but in the Late Cretaceous it lay beneath the Western Interior Seaway and was home to massive marine reptiles like mosasaurs! How did so many predators coexist?

Mark Carney (Lib) has stated that he will not delay a by-election in #Alberta so that the #CPC 's leader #PP can run for a seat and return to his role as leader of the opposition in Canada's legislature.

When is Dani' Smith, who calls the official opposition #NDP in her province 'Fringe' because she is a disgrace, going to do the very least honour and THE LAW requires herself & call a by-election so that Naheed Nenshi can lead from Albertans' House?

@jace If the voters in the Battle River-Crowfoot riding don't have a problem with the fact that the MP they elected less than a week ago is resigning to force a by-election and open a "safe seat" for a defeated candidate from Ontario, they're within their rights, but they'll end up with exactly the local representation they deserve. 😕

Alberta premier, Danielle Smith, plays the victim, again. Does she have any other role? "Never mind, of course, that the Liberals spent $34 billion to buy and expand the Trans Mountain pipeline to get more of Alberta's energy products to the West Coast for shipment overseas. This is not about facts but partisan politics." #alberta #canada #daniellesmith #bigoil thestar.com/opinion/contributo

Toronto Star · Graham Thomson: Danielle Smith tries to cloak her threats to Mark Carney but Alberta’s intentions are clearBy Graham Thomson

Alberta isn't just dirty tar sands and tailings ponds filled with dead birds. "The West is so much more. Potash, forest products, key primary agricultural products including peas, canola, beef and pork, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and medicines, to name a few. Imagine the boost to Canadian productivity if the full value of these industries were harnessed efficiently and strategically. Imagine the Canada we could build." #alberta #saskatchewan #manitoba #canada
