Calico Jesse<p>Voyager writing team, mid season 1: whelp, I’m out of ideas. What if we just do Beowulf this week?</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Voyager" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Voyager</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Beowulf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Beowulf</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Holodeck" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Holodeck</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/HolodeckAdventures" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HolodeckAdventures</span></a></p>
Medievalists.net<p>This Saturday we are starting a brand new online course: Reading Beowulf - get the details and sign up at <a href="https://medievalstudies.thinkific.com/courses/beowulf" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">medievalstudies.thinkific.com/</span><span class="invisible">courses/beowulf</span></a> <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/Beowulf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Beowulf</span></a></p>
Maki<p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tech</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> question; would it be possible to daisy-chain, <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Beowulf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Beowulf</span></a> a couple of old motherboards by setting them up with the barest basic distro install in order to make a home cluster? Anyone have any software suggestions to do this? I have an extraordinary amount of old x86 hardware that's not doing anything and was wondering how feasible it could be to rig them up like one would a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/RaspberryPi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RaspberryPi</span></a> stack.</p>
faraiwe<p>I was watching, late last night, videos of reaction to Vance's spewing of support to nazis in Germany.</p><p>Then I started understanding (mostly) some <a href="https://beige.party/tags/German" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>German</span></a>, and am seriously worried.</p><p>It happened once, years ago, when I was into reading Old English texts, namely a nice edition of translated and annotated <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Beowulf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Beowulf</span></a>.</p><p>Worries me because, as well known, German is a prank of Teut tribes against the Romans, not really an actual language, lacking proper grammar and orthography, etc.</p><p>;)</p>
Vereesh<p>Can anyone recommend an <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/audiobook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>audiobook</span></a> version of <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Beowulf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Beowulf</span></a> for me? I'm looking more for enjoyment than scholarship. I'd just like to hear it as either a poem or a story in a relaxed way, and yet reasonably true to the text. Thank you!</p>
