Ubuntu 25.04 Plucky Puffin Beta is now released as of today for users who are curious to see the progress of this version of Ubuntu due to release on April 17th. This is to ensure that high quality is met when the final version gets released to the public.

This version of Ubuntu features GNOME 48 that has made user experience more natural and intuitive, because it introduced features like battery protection for supported laptops, initial support for HDR, and much more to come.

In addition to that, GNOME 48 also features a redesigned notification center that groups notifications per application that sent the notification. For better computing habits, this version introduces the Digital Wellbeing feature that gives you information about screen usage and more.

Upgraded from Fedora 41 to 42 last night and all went…. Great! Again, the team is awesome and I was greeted with a nice new wallpaper and boy oh boy, triple buffered wayland is smooth! Kernel 6.14 also fixed all the error messages I was seeing with AMD Radeon 9070 and see a great performance while playing Returnal, no more stutters, just a butter smooth fps experience. Fedora is crushing it! #fedora #redhat #beta #linux
