The term, "white noise," just doesn't do it justice, the sound of water flowing gently through the landscape.

There are burbles and bubbles, splashes, and just that smooth, constant whisper of current, broken only by the singing of birds overhead.

It is a symphony, but a quiet one, a calming auditory sanctuary that welcomes us warmly within its soft embrace.

Momenteel werk ik aan een grote tekening (50 x 65 cm) voor een expositie met als thema "vrij". De tekening is opgebouwd uit verschillende delen, waaronder dit thema "D-day":

Landingsvaartuig met soldaten op weg naar een strand van Normandie... Kijkend om zich heen, naar andere landingsvaartuigen nog niet wetend welke hel hen te wachten staat

Dit is "work in progress", maar de meeste details zijn aangebracht.

Rockville Reflections

Rockville Regional Park is one of my regular hiking destinations near home.
The park has a range of trails from easy to difficult.
Near the end of summer this little pond can dry up into basically large mud puddle. I captured this on a beautiful spring day where the wind was completely absent. The pond reflected as almost a perfect mirror.

Rockville Reflection This image was captured at Rockville Regional Park just outside of Fairfield, Ca. This is a square format image. The foreground is of a seasonal pond. There is absolutely no wind when I captured this image and the pond is completely still creating a mirror effect, reflecting everything without a ripple. On the right edge of the image the top part of the pond comes into view. This follows around to the left side of the image. Beyond the pond the grass is growing a brilliant green as the area has had plenty of rain. Onn the right is a large oak tree that towers a good 10 feet above all the others. This tree as well as others reflect into the pond as does the sky with wispy clouds covering.
