I want to share this: Currently I live in #Cambodia, #PhnomPenh. Recently there was an #earthquake in #Myanmar. Cambodia is quite far away from Myanmar, but still some skyscrapers were very slightly shaking. In #Bankok, #Thailand one high rise building under construction entirely collapsed. Of course in Myanmar the damage was the heaviest, with lots of historic sites and cities completely destroyed.
Thousands of people died. Idk how much people cared in Europe about it, but here they do a lot.

these stone faces at Angkor Wat are so cool

Angkor Wat - city of temples - is a Hindu-Buddhist temple complex in Cambodia. The site is huge, and measures (1,626,000 m2; 402 acres); sitting within the ancient Khmer capital city of Angkor, It was constructed in 1150 CE as a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Vishnu.

Always something. Tonight it was tummy problems for my wife so at 10pm I had to find a pharmacy. It's never a problem finding one here but finding one open could have been. Got a tuktuk and we cruised this street. Saw one still open and driver took me there. I couldn't ask him to wait. Had no idea how long I would be. Had pharmacist talk to my wife and they discussed the meds. Then back home in same tuktuk. Thanks to Passapp for always being available. Mission successful. Now my wife can hopefully sleep with no rush trips to bathroom. It's funny tho. When we met I thought it would be me with issues. Instead she's the one with hypertension and blood sugar issues. common issues in the kingdom it seems.

After delivering a potted #economic history of the country in which he bizarrely claimed that the #GreatDepression would have been avoided if high tariffs had been in place, #Trump announced that “reciprocal tariffs” would go into effect on April 9th, w/rates of 34% on goods imported from #China, 24% on #Japan, & 20% on the #EU. Some of the highest rates were reserved for export-led developing countries in #Asia: 46% on #Vietnam, 48% on #Laos, & 49% on #Cambodia.

"Presumably no one is buying Teslas there," John Denton, head of the International Chamber of Commerce (#ICC), told Reuters, an ironic reference to the improbability of #Madagascar being able to placate #Trump by buying upmarket US products.

Madagascar is not alone: the bluntness of the formula as applied to economies which cannot afford to import much from the US inevitably leads to a high reciprocal tally: 50% for #Lesotho in Southern #Africa, 49% for #Cambodia in Southeast #Asia.
