marqle<p>I remember in days gone by I'd often hear <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a> fans boasting about how fast a mac book boots compared to <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>windows</span></a>.</p><p>I don't really hear that any more. Maybe because modern mac users aren't really fans, but simply people who've received expensive gifts. </p><p>Maybe it's because <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> boots much faster than both, and <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Chromeos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Chromeos</span></a> boots faster than all three, and this is fairly well known.</p><p>I stopped writing this to take some measurements of fairly similar <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/hardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hardware</span></a>.</p><p>My windows laptop boots in about 25 seconds, a Macbook I borrowed in 18, my <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/manjaro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>manjaro</span></a> laptop in 13 and my <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Chromebook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Chromebook</span></a> in 10.</p><p>Has anyone else tried this?</p>
