It's powerful, a first-hand account of an enslaved American who, though great suffering and hardship, found her own freedom. I read it with 'Letter to My Son,' by Ta-Nehisi <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Coates" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Coates</span></a>.
