J’ai aussi vu un petit symbole bleu qui indiquait qu’ils pouvaient me parler en français. J’ai donc dit bonjour.
J’étais le premier de la journée à exercer son droit de vote en français apparemment. Le travailleur d’élection était très content de me jaser ça.
Donc oui, on peut voter en français à Toronto aussi.

Not to brag, but just to acknowledge my good fortune voting this afternoon: the Advance Polling Place for me is in the exact spot of the Election Day polling. Thus, when I arrived, I was swiftly moved past those voting either out of their riding or local polling place, went straight to the desk for my local division, and cast my ballot! In and out in under 10 minutes! If I had been there an hour earlier, I doubt it would have been as fast, though.

Status update: 10.5 hours in, 6.5km in steps. Did manage to eat lunch.
If you have any problems voting in #elxn45 this weekend, speak with a poll official or the on site supervisor, call Elections Canada, or submit a complaint using the form on the EC web site. Improvements can be made in many cases.

Went to go vote (South Surrey/White Rock) and the line was loooong!
Ended up not voting cuz we have other things to do, will go back when the line is short, like this evening at 7pm or something.
Good to see though, let's hope we get a great turnout!
My wife passed by our advance poll a bit before lunchtime and said there was a huge lineup.
We were going to go on Monday but might try sooner, in case others also choose to wait until then.
Looks like David Moscrop will meet his expectation of a better than 70% turnout.

on a slightly more serious note, check in on your disabled, chronically ill, tired, burned out, elderly, neurodivergent, overwhelmed friends and neighbours.
See if anybody needs help getting to the polls.
When daily life is a struggle, these extra (and important!) things can be hard hurdles to get through.

Another data point, this one from the Manor Park neightbourhood, about 10 km away from me in Ottawa's east end: the wait there was an hour to vote at the advanced polls first thing this morning.
In my experience (I've been voting age for over 40 years), this is unprecedented. I wonder if it's happening in other Canadian municipalities as well.
