Travis F WI hate to say it but <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/F42" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#F42</a> has been glitchy.daily instances where I'm thinking "that didn't used to happen" like delays when pushing the power button to get it to sleep, and rendering artifacts around windows. not easily reproducible things.Why does this feel worse than <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/F41" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#F41</a>? <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Fedora</a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Fedora42" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Fedora42</a>(for the record I gave it a few update cycles before saying anything)

Khurram Wadee ✅So, I’ve basically reinstalled the system from a USB drive and am now restoring <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/backups" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#backups</a>. Luckily, I backed up all the <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/Dotfiles" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Dotfiles</a> and configurations and so the <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/desktop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#desktop</a> is behaving as before, which is a big relief. On the up side, it’s booting a lot faster and the <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/disk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#disk</a> has <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/btrfs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#btrfs</a> <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/partition" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#partition</a>, rather than <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/Ext4" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Ext4</a>.<a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/Fedora42" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Fedora42</a> <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/F42" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#F42</a>

I ended up getting a useless system (by which I mean, it would boot but would never give me a log in screen, like <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/sddm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#sddm</a>, nor would the <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/keyboard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#keyboard</a> respond, except the power button and there were no <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/VirtualTerminals" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VirtualTerminals</a> to log in to either).<a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/Fedora42" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Fedora42</a> <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/F42" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#F42</a>
