@Brian_Mahoney

What the heck are you talking about?

Voting federally in Canada is a very simple process, and doesn't take much time. You cast one vote for one office. Of course it's done by hand. It's trivial to count the votes afterwards. Even the biggest polling stations can count their votes in an hour or two.

Other than the line to get to where you get your ballot, it generally only takes a couple of minutes to vote. Yes, it'll be longer if you're not registered to vote, as they have to verify you, but otherwise it's quick.

It has been this way as long as I've been voting, which is more than 3 decades.

This post stinks of disinformation, trying to dissuade people from voting. Why? Who are you? Who are you working for?

Normal person leaving the election polling station: looking relieved that it's over and contemplating on getting home and figuring out what to do next.

Me leaving the polling station: Staggering out and squinting while looking around as if I hadn't seen the sun in three weeks and proceeding to ask some random person near the back of the line if it was still the year 2025.

(Line was about 45 minutes)

The #Federal is ready to provide #dollar liquidity through its swap lines w/other central banks as needed, #JeromePowell said.

"We want to make sure that dollars are available.”

"The reason we do it is it's really good for US consumers, so we'll do that just as part of the dollar being a reserve currency.”

Reserves are still abundant

Not close to where Fed would stop balance sheet runoff

The slower the Fed goes, the smaller the balance sheet can get w/o disruption

If the #scotus gives in to #maga and #trump requests to interfere into justified #federal #court #decisions the result will be something I do not dare to think through today - and the last thing would be writing the explicit words (again).

... the current #tariffs effects will be a faint #fart compared to the complete loss of #trust in the political system inside and outside of #USA .
