This comment is erasing a lot of the work done by people from other countries on open source operating systems.

FreeBSD may be USA based, but from a quick sampling of what I can quickly get from cgit.freebsd.org/ports/tree/as, which has 190 entries (out of 307 who have commit access to doc, ports, and/or src), only 49 are based in the US, so almost there quarters are outside the USA. (Yes, this doesn't take into account the amount of work each committee does.)

Anyone else running a #Wayland WM under #Wlroots and it freezes your computer to the point that nothing works not even switching TTY ? I thought it was #RiverWM related but it happens with #SwayWM too. If I don't start a Wayland session my computer is fine all day. But under Wayland I'm starting to get these random freezes like twice a day and the only cure is to hold the power button. I mean I'm tempted to revert back to X11 for stability so any info or ideas would be gratefully received. Oh and I'm running #FreeBSD too.

#selfhosting #freebsd - day 22

Lambing has blown my plans to have my BSD-Only by the 11th so I've had to give the damned penguin this victory but only while I bring my VPS up properly.

Here are the edited highlights...

🤡 HAProxy got set to listen to the entire ::/64 (yes, including requests from itself) this went as took longer than expected to nail down.

:freebsd_logo: added blacklistd - it's so refreshing to just do a quick sysrc and edit pf.conf

:freebsd_logo: SSHD - turned off legacy IP connectivity - it is always humbling to see how many boxes are trying to connect to ssh looking for an open port. I might give them a honeypot/tarpit to play in later

A hardware issue seems to have taken not one, but two 12TB drives to valhalla.
