In fact, JD Vance did NOT visit Greenland.

He visited a US enclave provided with permission from Greenlanders.

Notably, his attempt to actually visit Greenland resulted in a scandal as he failed to abide by centuries of precedent and seek an invitation to visit from the Government of Greenland and hastily altered his itinerary to save face.

To people who only see the world as a series of price tags and have no values, this is a reasonable strategy.

They're going to be surprised when the Greenlanders turn them down at 3x the rate the Danes are giving to them because, shock of shocks, they don't want to be American.

(Also, how'll Red State Americans feel about the one territory where the people get a WHOLE LOT more, like healthcare, than them?)
