The Workplace Justice Program is here to help workers in Nova Scotia understand their rights & fight to make their workplaces better. Our goal is to teach workers about the laws that protect them, give them tools to solve problems as they come up, & support them in fighting for changes to improve the law for everyone. First... "Know Your Rights At Work". Please post and share widely, in Halifax.

Attended a zoom round table for local Palestine activists "Palestine Will Not Be Erased" hosted by the Global Social Justice Project at Cape Breton University tonight. I took notes, we'll see if my notes make any sense tomorrow, but some takeaways were:

-despite all the reason for pessimism, there are small signs of change in the International community against the genocide. Pressure is working.
-keep talking about Palestine! It might only take one more conversation, one more video, one more essay that turns the tide
-there are International movements and coalitions like the Hague Group and others. BDS and other groups are seeing more traction, even in the West
-Israel has never been more isolated from the Intl community than ever before.
-Pressure along different vectors can work - so find your niche and get to it. In Canada, we can pressure CBC and other media to be more accurate in their reporting.
-Health care workers are increasingly speaking out about the atrocities, and we can amplify their voices
-Use social media with a critical lens, listen to Palestinians themselves, esp. those on the ground in Gaza and the West Bank. Avoid the political commentators, they're more often about spectacle. Palestinians are teaching themselves English to speak with us in the West and tell us their stories, we can make a difference directly

There are weekly protests in #HalifaxNS and #SydneyNS (though the media doesn't cover it) and many other ways to get involved.

If I can read my handwriting tomorrow I'll post about anything I missed. But now it's my bedtime. Goodnight!
