S. John Ross<p>I have just this one module I'm working on that's set (mostly) in the "Hammondal of Cats," but I know the module is coming along well because it kind of makes me want to do a whole campaign on that side of things.</p><p>(As it stands, <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Hammondal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hammondal</span></a> itself will include a fairly brief gloss and map of the Hammondal of Beasts more generally, discussing how the various animal communities relate to one another; the module will include a more specific writeup on the Hammondal of Cats)</p>
S. John Ross<p>Eye of the Galaxy still makes constant noise on the back burners.</p><p>If I live long enough, it's an inevitability. Some projects just contain too much life to be set aside. </p><p>I suspect it'll be system-agnostic when/if it happens. But I guess time will tell. Even <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Hammondal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hammondal</span></a> still whispers to me about maybe being as self-contained for the LTT gamer as the HTT one, but I resist, with teeth. </p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TTRPGDesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TTRPGDesign</span></a></p>
S. John Ross<p>Prodding at that campaign design kind of out of the corner of my eye, and finding myself bullet-pointing some smallish "floater" problems as well as the core campaign-scaled ones.</p><p>Which brings back memories of a project I prodded at a while ago, a kind of perverse answer to "what's the opposite of a bestiary?"</p><p>So that's a bonus delight for me, to return to that. ☺️</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/HTTRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HTTRPG</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Hammondal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hammondal</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/AdventureDesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AdventureDesign</span></a></p>
S. John Ross<p>Me: To do this right I'll need to build a d10,000 table, essentially, on a spreadsheet that I could then un-pivot into blocks of smaller tables.</p><p>Also Me: Stop. Just stop. 😕</p><p>Me: No. 😈</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Hammondal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hammondal</span></a></p>
S. John Ross<p>I haven't used the patterns created by crisping one of my burritoids* in a pan to texture a fantasy map yet, but I clearly need to at some point.</p><p>Each of the <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Hammondal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hammondal</span></a> neighborhood maps will have slightly different texturing, so I'll soon have the opportunity.</p><p>_____<br>* My recipe is not what you'd call authentic. 😅</p>
S. John Ross<p>Just playing with subtle changes to how I tone and texture the water.</p><p>(Plates like this one are the most that fit on a single page, so there will be three such plates in Hammondal's book, plus up to 23 neighborhood maps, zoomed and text-encrusted, plus a few others)</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TTRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TTRPG</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/FantasyMaps" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FantasyMaps</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Hammondal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hammondal</span></a></p>
S. John Ross<p>Many fantasy cities have been presented as campaign worlds, but they're usually _big deal_ cities, fantasy equivalents of New York, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, London, Cairo.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Hammondal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hammondal</span></a> is a campaign world that's the fantasy equivalent of Livonia, Michigan or Parma, Ohio. Cities for which most people never spare a single thought.</p><p>And if that strikes you as intriguing, or even a little audacious ... I agree. 😆</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TTRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TTRPG</span></a></p>
