Every year we sadly lose more people with first hand memories of WW2, which is a devastating loss to society. My own dear parents passed recently, and I miss them beyond words. Their childhood stories from WW2 will stay with me for life.
We should treasure the remaining members of the war generation, and listen to everything they have to say. April 15th was liberation day for Belsen, and this lady’s words are more relevant than ever…

On 15 April 1945 the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp was liberated. Some 50,000 prisoners including around 3,500 children died in the camp of hunger, disease or physical violence. Those who dies included Jews, Czechs, Poles, anti-Nazi Christians, homosexuals, Roma and Sinti. When the camp was liberated soldiers found thousands of unburied bodies.

I didn't get the advance Signal but, to the point: Why the F is the US committing bombing atrocities in #Yemen?! #abrahamAccord. It's the strategic weapons alliance responsible for the ongoing #holocaust and the blunting of any and all action to stop it. It is the US/Saudi/Israeli/Emirates, its lead-up to sparking #nuclearWar to crush Iran, for each alliance member's own reasons. The entire #genocide in occupied #Palestine and its neighbors; the "clearing" of all that strategic annoyance with all its ancient civilizations and stuff is proof-of-concept, world-rebuilding by the empire. Antisemitisme en de Holocaust

Het racisme, dat leidde tot het vermoorden van miljoenen Joden tijdens WWII - ongeacht leeftijd, hun mening en wat zij deden (puur op basis van vooroordelen dus), hebben we destijds ANTISEMITISME genoemd.

Antisemitisme leidde dus tot de moord op totaal onschuldige Joden, zoals Anne Frank en de familie van mijn Joodse grootvader (mijn opa werd naar Nazi werkkampen gestuurd en overleefde de oorlog).

De woorden antisemitisme en Holocaust zouden derhalve onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden moeten zijn.

Echter, veel te veel Joden (en niet-Joden!) rotzooien maar aan met de definitie van antisemitisme (zie bijv. theguardian.com/news/antisemit).

Zij maken *misbruik* van de associatie van de Holocaust met antisemitisme, maar veranderen (meestal zonder dat erbij te vermelden) de definitie van dat laatste woord.

Vooral degenen die de definitie van antisemitisme *BEWUST* wijzigen in haat jegens een SUBSET van alle Joden (zoals Zionisten), of zelfs individuën, zijn zelf antisemieten van de ergste soort; zij verloochenen de Holocaust.

Bij het schrijven van een Engelstalige reactie (infosec.exchange/@ErikvanStrat - op een bericht van @MishaVelthuis) vond ik enkele absurde pogingen om de betekenis van het woord antisemtisme te verkrachten of als ordinair scheldwoord te misbruiken, zie hieronder.

If I remember correctly, the holocaust was caused by "prejudiced hatred of ANY Jew regardless of age, what they thought or did".

A specific word was assigned to such racism: ANTISEMITISM. It applies to *all* Jews, not a subset (Zionists) let alone one or more specific individuals.

Antisemitism lead to the murder of totally innocent vicims, including Anne Frank and my grandfather's Jewish family. My grandpa himself was locked up in Nazi labour camps during WWII (he fortunately survived).

If the definition of antisemitism now significantly DIFFERS from "prejudiced hatred of ANY Jew regardless of age, what they thought or did", then the word antisemitism has become a HOAX.

Worse, everyone abusing the word "antisemite" for anything else, like for people demanding equal human rights for everyone, is a holocaust denier - and therefore have become the worst kind of antisemites themselves.

I'm Mvskoke & Jewish. It's a miracle I'm alive. My Native ancestors were in the #TrailOfTears. My (Poland/Ukraine/Belarus) Jewish ancestors experienced the #Holocaust. I have been educated since early childhood on multi-million person level genocides.

The most basic thing I'm saying here is #CECOT is a death camp, not a prison. People check in & very few check out alive. Very few if any have due process. CECOT is a seed we really do not want to minimize or see grow.
