Except the son's ps5. According to docs <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/immich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>immich</span></a> sends only preview images to remote machine learning, perhaps it would work to use the <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/OpenShift" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenShift</span></a> AI cluster from datacenter to run the mass recognition once. Or perhaps just easier to bring home some laptop with GPU for a day. Need to think a bit. But Immich was super nice find!</p>
Ilkka Tengvall<p>Would be cool if one could hook up ps5 to <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/immich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>immich</span></a> to use the GPU for image machine learning. Unfortunately I don't have another GPU at home. Ilkka Tengvall<p>Wau. <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Immich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Immich</span></a> is super nice. I don't even have used GPU yet to find faces and duplicates. But it's very slick and the map fearure is nice. Of course the initial image import is slow on raspi (ffmpeg) but UI is slick. Now I need to figure out which machine to use for GPU tasks.</p><p><a href="https://immich.app/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">immich.app/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>

Now what? Will raspi be beefy enough to run it? No GPU at least. Need to try how to use the external lib mounted to pod over nfs from nas. Redis and posgresql on the same raspi k8s.</p>

Frank Davies<p>I'm pretty sure <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/google" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>google</span></a> makes their apps less sophisticated at least partly to hide the scale of the data they're collecting.</p><p>I say this because in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/immich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>immich</span></a>, which is a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosted</span></a> photo app, I have exact geolocation of where I took all my pictures. In Google Photos there's a vague "in this country" but no option to overlay photos on Google Maps. Andrew<p>And Immich performs amazingly with the M1 chip on Fedora. Everything loads instantly on mobile, videos stream immediately - super snappy.<br><a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/immich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>immich</span></a></p>
Andrew<p>Success!!! I've migrated Immich from an x86 Debian system to Asahi Fedora on an M1 Mac Mini.<br>Installing Fedora was easy<br>Installing Docker was easy.<br>Installing Tailscale was super simple. <br>Installing and setting up CSF was easy, but only because I had notes from last time on how to make Docker and Tailscale cooperate.</p><p>Migrating the Immich database was a nightmare!! I think because my old system was a mishmash of legacy settings from 100+ releases ago... Also, my old system wasn't on the very newest release, which in itself made migration fail initially.</p><p><a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/immich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>immich</span></a> <a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/tailscale" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tailscale</span></a> <a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/asahilinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>asahilinux</span></a> <a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedora</span></a> <a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/aarch64" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>aarch64</span></a> <a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/csf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>csf</span></a> <a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/docker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>docker</span></a> <a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/macmini" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macmini</span></a> <a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/selfhost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhost</span></a> <a href="https://mnstdn.monster/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosted</span></a></p>
Jools [Friendica]<p>Ich habe mal testweise Immich installiert. 👍</p><p>Link: <a href="https://immich.app/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Immich - Self-hosted photo and video management solution</a></p><p><br><a href="https://missocial.de/search?tag=Photos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Photos</span></a>, <a href="https://missocial.de/search?tag=selfhosting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosting</span></a>, <a href="https://missocial.de/search?tag=selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosted</span></a>, <a href="https://missocial.de/search?tag=Fotos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fotos</span></a>, <a href="https://missocial.de/search?tag=Immich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Immich</span></a>, <a href="https://missocial.de/search?tag=googlealternatives" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>googlealternatives</span></a>, <a href="https://missocial.de/search?tag=GooglePhotos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GooglePhotos</span></a></p>
