Tor Lillqvist<p>This stuff is so fascinating. I could be watching videos with closeups of turbine engines for hours.</p><p>It is hard to find information on the web with drawings where the curvature of compressor blades and the matching stator vanes are shown correctly. Tor Lillqvist<p>Haha, the person who made this drawing in 1951 did not really understand how air passes through a jet engine compressor The air goes *through* the space of the blades and vanes. That is the point. The air does not carefully zig-zag around them as in this drawing. The gap between the rotating and static parts is supposed to be as small as possible, the amount of air that passes there is minimised .
