I think Elliott continues to make a case that he should be part of the midfield rotation. I agree with the criticism that Slot’s midfield selection is stagnant. He rotated better earlier in the season.

Szoboszlai’s highs are scintillating, but his consistency is a problem. Mac Allister and Gravenberch (also streaky) have looked leggy as the season is winding down.

Elliott can lack some of the physicality that others give, but he offers, in exchange, energy and strong attacking ideas.

It's not just a difficult place. It's a difficult place we just weren't prepared for.

I find it difficult to excuse a performance where the visiting team scores two goals and doesn't do enough to defend that unfair advantage.

Eight games to go: three away, five at home. We dropped more points than we should have today, but it's not the end of the world, if our defence gets a few fresh legs next.

If you're shocked, that's because you didn't factor in the possibility that our weakened and tired defence AND goal posts would be put to the test at Craven Cottage. But we were always going to be put to the test at Craven Cottage, and even in our best form we were always tested at Craven Cottage, even when we were more accustomed to retrieving one or three points from there in recent visits.

But if you go there with a makeshift RB, tired CBs, aging LB, and your second best keeper...

It seems to me that our best shooters may have received precise instructions about the situations when they should aim on target decisively. Leno is an excellent goalkeeper, but we've known his weaknesses for a while. Nothing of this happens by random chance.
