Die Studie ist noch immer hochaktuell, denn sie zeigt eindrucksvoll, was das Arbeiten zu einer Zeit, die eigentlich für Schlaf und Ruhe da ist, dem Körper zumutet. Und sie ist dabei nur ein einzelnes Ausrufezeichen in einer endlosen Reihe ähnlicher wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten: An der Erkenntnis, dass wir nicht dafür gemacht sind, spätnachts zu arbeiten, gibt es nicht mehr den geringsten Zweifel.
