Jody Hughes<p>A passing nod to the <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/MarchEquinox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MarchEquinox</span></a> .</p><p>Today I learned that the earth’s axis doesn’t wobble in giving us the seasons. I always thought it slowly wobbled (there and back over each year). But no. I blame faulty middle-school teaching. </p><p>And in finding this out, I think that on the equinoxes, an observer standing on the equator would not see the sun rise due east and set due west. (I have not tested this hypothesis out, but it follows on from the above factoid. I think.)</p><p>Caveat: IANAA, corrections would be good if you have ‘em.</p>
