geekgirl :mastodon:<p>I recently had a <a href="https://bne.social/tags/melanoma" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>melanoma</span></a> removed. I'm quite aware of the damage the sun can reap, so I always slip, slop, slap on my outings. </p><p>However, looks like the UV in <a href="https://bne.social/tags/Qld" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Qld</span></a> got to me though! I was lucky enough my GP spotted it and urged me to get a proper skin check. There's some guesses as to the rate at which it developed. But, I think a dermatologist may have missed it in 2023. </p><p>Anyway, I'm fortunate it's not spread! So a <a href="https://bne.social/tags/PSA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PSA</span></a> to please get a thorough <a href="https://bne.social/tags/skin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>skin</span></a> check done, if you haven't in awhile. </p><p>It was a very deep excision and finally after the stitches are out, I can get back in the water again. Due to other surgeries, then covid, I've only been in the pool once in 3 months! To say it's been a rather uncool summer is an understatement!</p>
