dana<p><span>Impressions from today's </span><a href="https://catodon.social/tags/TeslaTakedown" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TeslaTakedown</a><span> demonstration in Devon, PA:<br><br>- About 120 attendees, not bad for a holiday weekend.<br><br>- Weather warm but cloudy.<br><br>- The typical demographic profile holds: older white folks<br><br>- Mostly the traffic was supportively honking, hollering and fisting.<br><br>- In contrast, one older fellow in a white pickup rolled slowly up the right hand lane of Rt. 30, hurling insults at the attendees. When he came to me, I stepped to his pickup and shouted, "Go park your truck and walk back, I'll be happy to talk with you. But you're blocking traffic and you're gonna be ticketed." He thanked me for the calm response, then started shouting at the next protestor, something about Fetterman, and rolled forward. I never got to see if you would come back to chat, because the cop parked in the center lane pulled him over.<br><br>- The demonstration organizers walked the crowd, cautioning us not to engage with hecklers. I disagree with this approach. I don't think trading insults is productive, but getting folks to talk might be, and is always worth a try.<br><br>- The big yellow R1100S performed flawlessly.
