And yes, I took the #NJTransit Newark #LightRail... I wanted to take a nice pic of train over #CherryBlossoms (Japanese style), but unfortunately the light rail mostly runs in cuttings, has few cherry blossom trees near the tracks (other than at Branch Brook Park station and north of Orange Street station), and has high fences...
I just learned for the first time today that #NJTransit busses accept tap to pay from cards. This happened because I almost bailed on a bus because the #MyTix Mobile app kept looping that it was "unavailable" so I assumed that without cash, no bus ride.
If they advertised this, then I clearly never got the message.
While people are cramming PATCO Trains, there is literally no one on the #NJTRANSIT buses to Philly. #EaglesParade
I appreciate that demand for public transit has gone up since the congestion pricing... But REALLY wish NJ Governor Murphy hadn't turned down all the money to improve Transit on our side of the Hudson.
These broken train tunnels and standing room only busses are not cool! #NJTransit #nyc

#NYWaterway has a big charter bus on their 49th Street route today, too.
The MTA has been touting their numbers for NYS commuters. I'm really curious to hear the NJ numbers, which will have to come from the Port Authority (PATH and bus terminals), #NJTransit, and NY Waterway.
2/n More unsolicited observations on #buses since #congestionpricing
1. Per article linked above, MTA express bus ridership is up 21%.
2. Our private Trailways bus from #UlsterCountyNY to #nyc was completely sold out *and* on-time Tuesday morning.
3. Boxcar, the free market solution to #NJTransit, is now working with a second charter operator. Guess they can't get enough buses.
4. #NYWaterway, another private operator, has supplemented its school bus fleet with large Volvo coaches.
RT @amtrakconnects BIG news! We've awarded contracts for the Sawtooth Bridges Replacement Project, a critical investment that will upgrade capacity, reliability, and speed along the most heavily traveled segment of the NEC used by #Amtrak and #NJTRANSIT.
RT @davecoion #Amtrak, the #MTA and #NJTransit have determined existing Penn Station can't double its capacity via through-running. Which is convenient for Amtrak the MTA and NJ Transit because they want a larger #PennStation
C'mon people, grade crossing eliminations! #trains #NJTRansit
RT @railpassengers #Amtrak and #NJTRANSIT are teaming up to enhance the reliability and safety of their services along the [Northeast Corridor] - taking immediate measures to address recent disruptions, including intensified track and pantograph inspections.

#NJTransit sends a 123 out of port authority with ten empty seats and a full bus load still in line. Next bus has no AC. Bus starter says, "You can wait for the next bus if you want."
It's expected to open in 2026. #Amtrak #NJTransit #PassengerRail #NewYork https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNny7Re3Ug8
