So, AI's now the #superhero of #academia, spotting all the errors researchers missed while pretending to be smart 🤓💼. Meanwhile, humans everywhere breathe a sigh of #relief as they realize their PhDs are *finally* getting the #automated #proofreading they so desperately needed 💡📚. Now if only #AI could also write the papers for them...

Wow! Two infamous errors in one project. I feel so USEFUL!

This project had 1 instance of "Dr. Spock" where "Mr. Spock" was needed, and 1 instance of "Ernest Hemmingway." (S/be "Hemingway.")

I've wanted to join the ranks of "Hemingway fixers" for years and I finally got the chance. 24 years as an and I still get a thrill out of a good catch.

Remember, people, are your last line of defense. Don't skip this valuable step before publication.

a book that has had a bad copyedit is one of my least favorite tasks. I can't fix all the errors. It's too late in the game. The publisher doesn't want to spend the money. So the poor author is stuck with "garbage in, polished garbage out."

My advice? : Even if you have a traditional publisher, make sure your manuscript is in the best possible shape before turning it over. Your recourse for fixing errors later is limited.
