When I return to a place I haven’t seen in years and find it exactly the same, I get the strange feeling I’ve traveled through time. Emotions from a different moment in my life come rushing back, and memories surface.

Tonight, my wife and I went back to the pizzeria we used to frequent when we were dating. It brought us back so vividly that, as we left, I instinctively drove toward my old home. It was surreal - yet incredibly beautiful.

#ThrowBack to 2017, and our previous home in Florida. Just a strange picture.

An oval old-fashioned white-ish metal ornate frame or vanity tray has had its center replaced with a mirror. It is sitting propped up (horizontally) on a light blue polywood bench in the shade.

The mirror itself is reflecting a bright scene of yellow house, green crepe myrtle and some kind of closely-trimmed conical evergreen. It looks a little like a small porthole to another, brighter world.

This date. Eight years ago.

#throwback to that short period when I was just getting started with sewing and was making 3D plushies. At one point, I decided to try making the characters of one of my favourite childhood game: Banjo Kazooie.
The backpack was functional and you could put Kazooie in it.
My sister has this one.
