Blue Mountain, which I climbed last summer. A fire a decade ago caused the strange patterns.

TEN chapters left to edit in Book3. This is always a thrilling time as an edit winds down.

I’ve begun thinking about blurbs for Book2, my next project.

Over treetops and a grassy hillside, and with mixed forest rising to the left, a mountain rises beneath a cloudy sky. It’s heavily forested, but on its lower slopes there are scars like fingers where snow is visible. This is where a fire occurred, the new growth not visible from a distance.

When it involves creativity, there’s no sameness about it, not if I’m doing it right, which is why I welcome the challenge.

I’ve been on fire editing & yesterday was more of the same. It proves to me how my editing & drafting brains work differently.

*I finally managed a picture of a black-billed magpie (corvid). There are a lot of them locally, but they’re more skittish than crows.

Groceries & a walk this morning, then I’ll dive into another chapter. This novel edit is winding down, my next project on the horizon.

I was insanely productive yesterday. Rather than question it, I rolled with it.

Drafting creates a story that exists in the clouds. Dramatic, perhaps, but not always clear. Editing brings clarity, delivering a gentle breeze & a blue sky.

Getting my #trails confidence back I ran a 42km #trailrunning loop around the Dandenong Ranges yesterday. Vert, altitude and technicality was less than the Razorback Run that I DNF'd, but it was good to really nail a #run of a decent distance (faster than I thought I would). Nutrition worked much better (still not perfect, but a significant improvement over Razorback) too. Anyway, yay me

Partly, I can thank the inspiration I draw from watching my chart fill-in.

After? Back to Book2 & its publication. Then?The Book5 novel scan, edit Book4, publish Book3. That’s the power of rotation.

I swore I’d finish editing Book3 this month & am on track to do so, with days to spare.

It’s typical spring, where the weather each day bears no resemblance to the one before.

I’m trying to walk earlier each morning in anticipation of summer. Our nights are still below freezing.

In a forest of hemlock, laurel and small leafy trees, a small stream forms a quiet pool in a narrow opening between vertical rock walls 10 to 20 feet (3 to 6 meters) high. The rocks on our left are the highest, open and covered with thick green moss. To our right they are lower and covered with shrubs and ferns and trees. It is drizzling and has been raining. Everything is wet.
