There's a beauty in the trees today, as the first chartreuse and gold and blush of the maple flowers fades to the bright green of new leaves. #inBloom #bloomScrolling #plants #leafPeeping #treeTuesday

A dirt path cuts through the woods, disapearing into the distance. Low weeds edge the path. Tall trees lean towards the empty space over the trail, reaching their branches outwards and angling for the best bits of sunlight. Their branches are still mostly bare in early spring, with a scattering of fresh green leaves mingled into the bright gold and lemon yellow of maple flowers. The blue sky peeks through the treetops beyond.

Evening light filters through coastal fog and gives a gently glow to coastal sage scrub and Torrey Pine trees in Del Mar, California.

A beautiful moss covered Western red #cedar #tree - still unprotected.
Only a human, with a compromised & unwell soul, would be OK killing an elder tree this magnificent. Some things are just plain wrong.

These ancient old growth trees are essential to fighting accelerated #ClimateChange. #OldGrowth ecosystems in our coastal temperate rainforests supports much biodiverse lifeforms. The naturally moist environment helps to lower impacts of wildfires & other natural disasters that have increased as our governments continue to fund & enable more ecocidal projects.

"Wild Green Yonder" for #ThickTrunkTuesday

The evergreen oaks of Southern California have been a favorite photography subject of mine for a long time. This beautiful specimen is a Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia) at Hollenbeck Canyon near Jamul in San Diego County.
