The first shot with my then new telephoto zoom lens. It's amazing how you can capture objects that are far away this detailed and I started to love the lens.

🦉🛫 Snowy owls, North #America's largest owls by body mass, migrate thousands of kilometers from the Arctic to places like #Boston's Logan Airport each #winter, where the open runways resemble their tundra habitat.

Norman Smith has saved over 900 of these #birds since 1981, developing #conservation methods now used at other airports while collecting scientific #data about these Arctic visitors and establishing protocols for safely relocating them.
