A écouter, la série du Manuel Déterre sur le sexisme dans le monde paysan. C'est excellent.

Le dernier épisode parle d'argent. Et bah ça résonne très fort avec ma dernière soirée avec un groupe de paysanne dans lequel 3 des 8 participantes (dont 6 installées) étaient conjointes collaboratrice et tombaient des nues quand je leur ai expliqué que c'était de la grosse merde et qu'il fallait changer ça au plus vite.
Et moi je tombait des nues qu'on en était encore là pour un si grand nombre d'entre elles en 2025.

Vraiment les filles renseignez vous, parlez divorce et séparation avec vos conjoint·es, protégez vos thunes et faites reconnaître votre travail!!!

The global supply chains were disrupted in 2020 by the Coronavirus pandemic. In 2022, food prices in the USA increased faster than any year since 1979, due in part to the avian influenza outbreak and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. From the outside it is still a bit hard to comprehend that the US government is dishing out support to farmers because of low commodity prices (even more so considering Musk-Trumps radical cuts in government expenditure) when food prices are on the rise. The cost of raw materials, i.e. the stuff that comes from farms, is, however, a minor share of food prices in rich countries. A global look gives a slightly different picture, with a less dramatic increase than in Europe or the USA. It should be noted that the long term (100 year) trend of food prices was falling until around year 2000, albeit with irregular hikes, mostly associated with oil prices.

Honey

Went and picked honey last week from my supplier, a bio security Officer for Varroa (Varroa development officer). The jar on the right is what I normally get, ‘cause honey. 🍯🐝

Not now. I can only get the middle and left size. Why?

Good agricultural #land in various parts of the Dominion is being seriously threatened by the continuous and unrelenting drift of sand, and although much has been done by the State Forestry Service… to combat this, further experimental work is at present being carried out…. Altogether there are 92,000 acres [37K ha] of dune country in the #Wellington area, and 183,000 acres [74K ha] in the #Auckland district.
The menace… has become manifest particularly along the coast of the North Island between Wellington and New Plymouth, and the north coast of Auckland…
The theory advanced for the spread of the sand dune country is that before the advent of the European population…, the greater part of the sandy land was more or less stable, and Dr. L. #Cockayne, hon. botanist to the Department, declares that over-grazing and injudicious stock of land has caused it to become loose.

As the waste sandy country is privately owned, very little action is being taken…, but… the Government, by… the Sand Drift Act… has power to undertake the work itself.
