This Is My GlasgowArt Deco style Bank of Scotland emblem on the ground floor of the former Refuge Assurance Building on Renfield Street in Glasgow. This Is My GlasgowRight beside the 1960s Brutalist former Adam Smith building featured in my last post is this rather beautiful terrace of red sandstone Glasgow Style town houses built in 1907 and designed by John Nisbet. This Is My GlasgowLove this Brutalist floating stairwell on the former Adam Smith Building on Glasgow University's Gilmorehill Campus. This Is My GlasgowThe Great Western Road Bridge over the River Kelvin at Kelvinbridge in the West End of Glasgow. Built in 1891, it was designed by Bell and Miller, with the iron work being created by William Arrol. This Is My GlasgowSometimes Glasgow's architecture makes it feel like you're walking through a magnificent oil painting, and sometimes it's like being trapped in a drawing by M.C. Escher! This one definitely falls into the latter category. This Is My GlasgowAs it's St George's Day today, I thought I'd post one of my favourite sculptures of Saint George fighting a dragon. It's from the University of Glasgow Memorial Chapel and was ceated in the 1920. This Is My GlasgowJ.T. Rochead's 1855 Grosvenor Terrace in the West End of Glasgow lit up against the night's sky. This Is My Glasgow1930s Art Deco style addition to the Templeton Carpet Factory on the corner of Templeton Street and London Road in Glasgow. Scott KissingerDetroit’s Guardian Building—an Art Deco masterpiece in brick, tile, and limestone. The details on this place are incredible up close, but I love how the upward angle emphasizes its towering presence.
