@thoralf Ich überlege aktuell sehr viel, wie wir es schaffen, zu einer "Dafür"-Gesellschaft zu werden, in der wir und gemeinsam für die Dinge einsetzen, die wir haben wollen, statt uns gegeneinander in Position bringen zu lassen und darum zu streiten, was andere auf keinen Fall haben dürfen.
Ich glaube, es wäre ein sehr sehr starker Hebel, wenn sehr viele Eltern (und alle anderen gerne auch) verstehen würden, dass es nicht von "Glück" abhängig sein darf, dass sich Kinder und Jugendliche frei bewegen können, ohne plattgewalzt zu werden, sondern dass es deren gottverdammtes Recht ist! Und wenn der Groschen fällt, dass Autos die Freiheit der Kids einschränken und deshalb deren Privilegien nicht mehr uneingeschränkt über allem stehen dürfen, dann wären wir einen riesigen Schritt weiter.
In den Niederlanden hat genau ein solcher Diskurs dazu geführt, dass die Kids dort mitunter Rad fahren, bevor sie vernünftig laufen können (gut, das ist etwas überzeichnet :) und sobald die können, sitzen die auf dem Rad und entdecken ihre Umwelt! Das Elterntaxi ist dort kein Problem - und wenn es das gibt, ist es in den meisten Fällen ein Bakfiets.
Und irgendwie begegnet man seltenst Holländern, die heulen, weil sie nicht überall schnellstmöglich mit dem Auto hinballern dürfen, sondern die finden das eigentlich alle ziemlich geil!

I needed a bike ride, my kid needed some anti-anxiety practice. We biked to the ocean. I let them get all their words out, and there were a lot of them. Then we practiced some grounding (what do you smell? What to you see? What do you feel? I'm skeptical about the brake pad wear in all weather but I can see where a brake caliper mount is absolutely designed to take braking torque. It does sound like the amount of #RegenBraking grab would be intuitive to lever force. I wouldn't hesitate to make this the rear brake on longtail #eBikes especially if you have a 350W mid-drive & want more oomph. Front brake on #bakfiets / #cargoBikes would be a different deal though. Too bad I can't buy one yet, h/t @Karstan

How do people work on their tricycle #bakfiets? I’ve been propping up the rear of the frame to work on the chain but then I have to lay it on its sides to work on the front wheels/brakes. It works but I feel like there has to be a better way.

Probably our most impressive carry so far. We rode our Yuba Supermarche about 250 miles on the Olympic Discovery Trail like this. There’s a kid in the front and an 80lbs dog in the trailer. @wesley_cook I would consider a frontloader, like a #bakfiets. We loved ours. For two, it worked well from when the new one was about 6 months old (old enough to use the rear facing seat) till when the older was about 8 and too big for both fit on the seat.
By then, the older one would ride their own bike use an attached Burley Piccolo.
