Absolutely a recipe for terrible working conditions and company stores as we had for coal miners before the UMW came along.

Chilling open letter from former Palantir employees on the ways Trump and Peter Thiel are weaponizing the data Palantir provides.

I see where you're coming from and embrace your sarcasm but...I can't help myself...
I think your prediction has a bit of rosy colored glasses syndrome.
Most people in the US are not willing or able live the way we do today paying US manufactur ing costs. So lifestyle will be cut back and more costly.
If those jobs get here they will be diluted by low wages and automation.
Trump wants a return to generational jobs, company stores and serfdom.
"Trump Grants Carmakers Some Relief From His Punishing Tariffs"
Is it just me or is this stuff making everyone dizzy?
What I know from my own business life is that I don't like unreliable erratic partners. I would sooner work with a smaller, less well established company, or country in this case, if I think I can trust them.
Could this behavior be why so many Trump businesses filed for bakruptcy?

Sorry to be reposting from Instagram. For those not comfortable clicking through, it is a proud & sad commentary on the resignation of Bill Owens who led CBS' 60 Minutes and had been with CBS for 40 years. Owens resigned over unacceptable interference from CBS' parent company, Paramount, which is trying to merge with another company and needs to curry favor with Trump for approval of the deal.

Hang on, I know I have another surprised look around here somewhere...

The role of commercial policy in politics is to keep private companies under control not to do them favors. That's to ensure, that #capitalism is not unleashed. That's the duty of the state towards its citizens. Because capitalism, at its core, is an Ouroboros that would devour itself if given the chance.
"EPA accused of faking criminal investigation to claw back climate funds"
Kudos to #SenatorWhitehouse for standing up to the #corrupt #Trump administration.
"Will Musk’s Ties to Trump & DOGE Lead to Long-Term Problems for Tesla?"
#Trump calling #Musk a"great patriot" rings totally hollow. What has he risked other than a few million of his billions? What has he done for the country other than throw it into further disarray? Trump's hollow praise will not long protect Tesla stock.
#Tesla will be forever scourged by what Musk has done & what he stands for: #whitesupremacy #Nazism #corruption #oligarchy #corpocracy #arrogance
We have a huge swath of the older generation who are not online or if they are can only use simple social media apps, some are visually impaired, some just need to talk through their #lifeline with a real human being. This will cost lives.
#PoliticalDonations should be allowed *ONLY* from *individual* *citizens* of the country the politician is competing in (*no* companies, #corporations or #politicalactioncommittees should be able to contribute or #influence ). Donations from each individual should be capped to prevent the #superwealthy and #billionaires from having undue influence.
Anything else is a threat to #democracy.
"Stocks slump yet again as fears grow about tariffs — and a recession"
Because #Trump is a #stablegenius....
Did anyone ever consider that the "stable" part might have to do with horse manure?
Maybe his minders on #wallstreet will reel him in? (Don't count on it...)
#economy #recession #tariffs #idiocracy #corpocracy #401k #retirement
...and thus...#oligarchy...which has now come home to roost.
Oh my gosh, I am stunned with this thought.
