Happy birthday to...us! 🎂

Today, May Day 2025, World Cyber Health, the parent organization of #MalwareVillage, officially became incorporated in Canada as a not-for-profit organization.

What this means is that, soon, we will be able to begin fundraising to pay for our operations, which include Malware Village, but also several other important projects that focus on training the next generation of malware analysts, and helping victims of cybercrime.

Until those mechanisms are set up, you can support the organization and its efforts by purchasing #malmons embroidered patches from our swag store. MV and WCH founder Lena Yu created these unique characters to represent malware families.

DC33 planning alert - The #defcon room block at the Fontainebleau is sold out. The blocks at the Sahara and Venetian are filling up. To lock down your own deep #defcon33 discounts visit defcon.org for the reg links.

August will be here before you know it. Make sure you plan accordingly.

See you soon!

Friendly #DEFCON reminder: the deadline for the #defcon33 Call for Papers, Call for Workshops and Call for Demo Labs is now less than a month away! Get your submissions in ahead of the mad rush at the May 1 deadline for maximum attention. We can’t wait to see what you’re working on!

@HamRadioVillage is excited to be coming back to @defcon for #DEFCON33 and hoping to be able to reach even more people this year. We will be hosting the village proper with demos and a talk track as in years past, as well as at least 2 contests over in the contest area - both focused on RF and theory.

While we're horrible influences and always want people to be licensed to join our brand of shenanigans, the contests and talk track don't require it - but we're more than happy to help people study and pass either at DC or before.

If you want to volunteer to help or to give a talk, there are a few ways to do so:

  • Be active in our Discord and stick your
nose out with crazy ideas. We do love shenanigans.

  • Fill out the call for staff and get your name on the list.

  • Fill out the call for talks.

Presentations are reviewed on a rolling basis; staff is confirmed closer to the event.

Full transparency - HRV is not given a large allotment of village badges, so we have to be stingy with them. Priority goes to returning staff and presenters and amateur radio operators. If you fall into one of those categories, make sure to indicate so in your notes so that we can plan accordingly.

Hope to see you at DC33, as long as it's not cancelled!
