My solution for my needs may not be yours but this is just what I'm doing, or have tried, up to now. I'm liking Tiny File Manager, though I've tweaked it a bit to use ViewerJS not Google doc viewer.

Started moving from gmail of personal email account from gmail to Mailbox.org
Normally I am do not "scream aloud" about changes like that. But this time I got experience I want to share.
What I decided to do is to make sort of task, or plan, of what should be updated and update it gradually, like 1-2 item of the list per day.
Also "shocked" to see how many things are bound to our emails, and this is only what I was able to remember.
Navigation is a necessary feature in our modern lives and the good news is that there are privacy-respecting alternatives that provide excellent navigation capabilities without invasive tracking. Let's explore some of these alternatives.

I'm looking for suggestions for a #GoogleCalendar alternative - ideally needs to be able to host a calendar with which:
- I can invite people to events
- people could import it into whatever calendar software they were using
- I can share with specific people who would be able to edit it (ideally using their preferred software)
So far I've tried #Cryptpad, #NextCloud (hosted by thegood.cloud), and #Framagenda (which is also NextCloud under the hood, it turns out).
Trying to #degoogle but I'm not sure what to do about my SMS app. I assume at this point all of them but Signal are data harvesting or selling data to AI, and I'm not going to get my friends and loved ones to download Signal just to send let photos. Thoughts?
Saved another 2019 Oneplus 7 that got stuck on Android 12 with a security update of somewhere in 2022.
It is now running Android 14 with the latest security update, thanks to @murena /e/os.
Biggest hurdle was to downgrade to Android 11, as Oneplus has created an issue with Oxygen OS -Android 12, where the OEM unlock has disappeared. Moreover, their downgrade links were obsolete. What a mess.
Installing /e/os was a breeze once unlocked.

Soon, I need to look into getting another phone, as Android updates for my phone have stopped, so it's just security updates.
Unsure what the cutoff is, but I assume it's in the next year or two.
I'm lookingat potentially getting a #fairphone
What do people think of it? Any particular issues?

Also managed to setup #photoprism in a Docker container to self host all of my photos and videos, finally #degoogle ing myself in that regard. That also feels good, but still working out the kinks with this workflow. Any tips appreciated.

Besonders kritisch: Fotos sind oft in Google/Apple-Clouds "eingesperrt". Und wo es noch keine guten Alternativen gibt (z. B. PayPal, YouTube), lasst uns welche entwickeln!
