Day 26: Swapped out the rear main seal. The old one didn't look terrible, but it's one of those jobs that'll take 15 minutes now, but many horrible hours if I have to do it later when everything's back together, so I might as well.

Puttered around on a few other little odds and ends, but I'm now really at a stop until I get the new flywheel bolts so I can reinstall it for real. Definitely looking like that'll be after my surgery. #WeirdCarMastodon #DIY #BMW #E39 #M54B30 #WrenchEveryDay

Northern spy 🍏 planted in place of the aged hydrangea. We will train it tall so that it can provide shade over the path and maybe front yard/pond on hot summer days.

Parents had a whole bunch of horse manure 🐎 and a big bag of peat moss so we mixed some of that in for the tree. It didn’t have much of a root ball so we’ll have to make sure it stays nice and anchored. #diy #gardening #apple #pnw #portalberni #vancouverisland

The day is done. Made a reasonable dent in the mountain. Raised the level of about half of the driveway. Tomorrow I will measure the fabric for the car tracks and put down another 2 loads of dirt to bring it to the edge of the tracks.

Then we'll need to wait until a weekday when I am home to go get sand, gravel, and top soil.

Maybe Ill go to the stone shop next week and grab the flagstones for the path. 🤔

Lots to do!

Then we will move to the backyard again and start on plumbing for the poolpond!

When we bought this house we bought also a very big greenhouse that I'm slowly starting to use.
But now I have to learn how to take it apart, because ants found their way into one of the polycarbonate panels (they all have some trapped insect or dirt - mostly pollen I guess).
I have to probably remove the roof ridge and slide it out from the top.
