I painted this (and made the easel) for a Father's Day years ago.

As usual for me, it's tiny; Dollshouse-scale.

I referenced a photo I found online, labelled only as a traditional ancient chinese building.

@MakersHour@cupoftea.social @makershour@a.gup.pe A1 My slogan is ‘To infinity and beyond!’ As I am still creeping along with my fireplace. I had to make a new fire hood as the last one was too big in the finished space. After far too many tries I have given up on making a Fimo edging for my tiles and made one out of stripwood and painted it black. It really helps the join between the tile and the wood. The next step is to glue the wood and polish it before fixing it in. #No52 #DollsHouse #MakersHour

@makershour@a.gup.pe A3 well in a small diversion yesterday I got out my hand carving chisels which belonged to my late father in law’s father so well over 100 years old. Then here’s my polymer clay bakes for today - working on vases and I have made the leaves for a rubber plant - #DollsHouse #No52

A1 Hello 👋 Janet here. All my makes are #fun because Dolls Houses are fun. But I think a particularly amusing make was Mrs MacGregor’s drawers and her chanty cover. That’s the word she uses for ‘chamber pot’. It’s a long way from her room to the ground floor bathroom in the middle of the night so she keeps a chanty for herself under her bed. #No52 #DollsHouse

Frank announces he has learned a new song at the park. It goes ‘What shall we do with the sunken sailor!’ Ben says it should really be ‘Drunken’ but Mrs MacGregor (who has signed the pledge) replies that anyone who drinks is morally sunk and she likes Frank’s version. Frank is beaming … and it seems we may hear it again soon enough 🫢 #DollsHouse #No52

We are all gathered in the kitchen this evening and are discussing the latest news from our joiners that the fireplace is taking a little longer than expected. Definitely won’t be installed next week. Mrs MacGregor is cooking out her frustration and Ben and I are discussing chasing up the joiners while drinking tea. #No52 #DollsHouse

Progress report.
I still haven’t had the courage to glue this together but the pieces are coming along. Even then, I can’t glue in the Fimo until the wood is finished properly. I made a second larger oval and glued it round the first to make beading. I’m also not sure if I can improve the tiny variation in the outside edges of my rows of tiles. Using 3000 wet/dry sand paper but I think once it is all mounted no one will even notice it. 🤞#DollsHouse #No52 #Fireplace #ArtsAndCrafts

Well, this is fiddly. Tiles can be trimmed and sanded, but a modicum of regularity might be nice! The ruler is straight, and so is the knife but the resulting tiles are a bit too wonky at the moment. I can keep trimming and moving as often as I like until it is baked. Done for today. Beginning to do my head in. #hearth #No52 #DollsHouse #WIP
