@harld Could we please add
@element
For instant Messaging apps, as an alternative to Whatsapp, Signal etc..

It should have a Non-US ( #Element is based in UK), and a Privacy label.
Also, it is #opensource and #federated

Although many people are flocking to #signal now (which is a lot better then Whatsapp), Signal can not be controlled by US government, it can be taken down by them. At this point, even that should be taken into account.
Element uses the #Matrix protocol. It is awsum

Posting and pinning this because Soatok's misinformation has infected far too many. *Everyone* needs to read this in its entirety, *especially* all the #Signal Kool-Aid drinkers.

*And* the response from OMEMO author Tim Henke, which Soatok saw fit to redact from their post comments.

Introducing fedepedia.org!

This is a federated wiki instance powered by ibis. My goal is to collect and organize some Fediverse-related content here, but I'm totally cool with it hosting other entries too :)

Since it's federated, anyone from any instance (as long as that instance isn’t blocked) can edit entries here. That said, since there aren’t any articles yet, you'll need to register on this instance and create one before you can start editing.

This account will be sharing more updates about the instance. I really hope I can keep it running for a while so that it at least becomes another simple Fediverse wiki :P

As our digital lives in the US become less stable and private, I wanted to figure out how to choose what search engine my browser uses.

I just added a new default search engine option for my Firefox on my MacBook (Mac OS).

1) add an extension to Firefox to allow me to add a different default search engine:
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firef
