Tech advice needed.

I need lightweight, simple and configurable firewall software for Windows 10. I have to keep my config going just a few more months and then will kick Windows to the curb. Zone Alarm Pro Firewall is my current software and they are dropping it in favor of a bulky suite that I hate.

Anyone have suggestions?

Wanted to play #Freeciv with my son in my LAN between a Mac and a Debian laptop.
After several tries we had matching v3.1.4 (had to self-compile on Linux).
Tried to start the server on each machine, other couldn’t see it (connection refused).
Switched off the #firewall of MacOS and completely opened #iptables on Linux after single port settings had no effect.
Local tools say the port is open, remote tools (nmap) say it’s closed.
Out of ideas now. Any suggestions?

Ich suche gute Tutorials, wie man kleine Netzwerke mit mehreren VPS hinter einer Firewall bei einem Hoster wie Hetzner oder Netcup realisiert. Irgendwelche Vorschläge oder Erfahrungen?

10 years ago I ran LineageOS on my phone and at home I ran a really restrictive firewall. I was blocking port 5228 outbound & I think that caused the phone to factory reset sometimes but I'm not sure. It was really annoying when it happened. Has anyone ever come across it before?

C'est juste moi ou la France utilise beaucoup de DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) pour censurer internet en plus du firewall français ? Cette méthode s'utilise à quel niveau dans le transite des paquets ? Ou alors c'est juste Orange. Je trouve cette méthode vraiment vicieuse, peu efficace et sans doute plus demandeuse en ressources qu'un firewall classique.
