This needs to be optional IMHO.
Do you have a recommendation for a #linux tool to navigate a heavy #truck (no "normal" car!) via #gps offline?
I tried #pureMaps but miss the adjustment for car size parameters. GPS can be provided via #geoclue or #gpsd sufficiently.
I just need map display and route planning - ideally an option which is aware of obstacles like low bridges and weight limits on particular roads and show alerts.
In case it matters: I will be on german roads.
Read this very interesting blog about #location services in #Fedora #Linux. It also explains how to set up #geoclue to use the @beacondb services.
I already did that previously, and my Fedora laptop can find its location pretty precise without having a #GPS device.
Of course I collected a lot of measurements and uploaded them to #beaconDB to make this possible.
