Internet is going great. Thanks to bot protection, you can't use #RSS / Atom feeds from #GNOME GitLab or #kernel cgit anymore. Which of course makes zero sense, because feeds are intended for machine consumption by design.

Ich glaube ich muss #KDE wieder löschen/deinstallieren von meinem Laptop. Das ist ja furchtbar, wie viel CPU-Leistung und Speicherplatz #baloo braucht?!?!
Mehrere Gigabyte Speicherplatz und 100% CPU-Auslastung für >15 Minuten, der Lüfter lief auf Hochtouren.
Und das nur zum Dateien indexieren und durchsuchbar machen.
Und baloo alleine entfernen geht irgendwie nicht, weil das zur KDE desktop environment offenbar dazugehört?!
Dann doch lieber #Gnome.
I finally wrote the first part of my journey developing a drum machine app and becoming a GNOME Foundation member. I talked about the great @gnome community, Gnome Circle apps, Gnome Foundation membership perks, and how to come up with an idea.
In the next articles, I will talk about the development of the Drum Machine and the application review process, and what happens after getting your membership and your app being accepted to the Gnome Circle.

After almost 5 years with #Fedora (first with Workstation, later with Silverblue, and I love it), I'm actually thinking about migrating to #GNOME OS, but I still have some doubts.
If anyone uses it as their main OS, please write in the comments or in DM.
I use it in VM to test new features, but I haven't had a full chance to explore it, because in a VM I'm limited to certain things.
What do you think is still missing in #Wayland?
I feel that the last rough edges have been ironed out in the last year. This includes #HDR, #TripleBuffering, #ColorManagement, #SessionRestore implementations, improved #Accessibility, etc.

I am (gods help me) trying to get a #Brother printer/scanner working in #Debian 12 / #Gnome 43.9 on a #Thinkpad #T480S.
Before a recent reintallation of hte OS, the #CUPS driver used to work for printing but not scanning, *and* the Brother Linux printer drivers used to make the scanner work, too.
But now, neither works, and I get the error message: "Unable to locate printer" (followed by the correct IP address).
Summary articles are always fun to read, they give you a great sense of the work that's gone into #GNOME and help put everything into perspective.

What a great way to start the weekend.
I came home from work today and spotted a flatpak update for darktable. Although still version 5.01, the update apparently activated OpenCL on my venerable (but extremely stable) AMD Radeon RX 6600. Fantastic!
The good thing is that the "you took a screenshot" notifications persist, so that I can still be reminded of it the day after. Even weeks after, if I don't get around to clear them – which I will do this time, because now it actually takes a few seconds to open the clock menu because of all these notifications…
Btw, I've taken several screenshots today also, but those notifications just appears for a very short time and then are gone. What's going on there? It's good, but not normal.
Hello guys, I released Serigy, an app to pin information from the clipboard.
The idea came about to solve the problem of copying multiple items at once and pasting them in different places. I was hesitant to use a clipboard manager because it felt invasive. After months of development and use, I decided to publish it.
