Finishing the underarm and the side seams by hand. Made the side seam allowance a bit bigger to prevent fraying, so they don't look as delicate as they could. And the "What do you mean I got distracted by cats and cut the front body wrong, no the insertion lace is a feature..." bit that was entirely intentional!
Also cat.

A close up photo of the absolutely tiny rolled hem going on the under arm scoop of a little top, in sheer and fine white linen. It's so thin Sini's fingers are fully visible through it. There is a medium to narrow strip of off white linen lace sewn onto the front part on a diagonal, the seam allowances of it finished with tidy machine stitching. The side seam has been felled by hand on both sides of the seam allowance, making it very flat. A sewing needle with linen thread is hanging onto the hem in progress, Sini's pink hand holding onto the sewing. The back leg and belly of a ginger tabby cat dominates the top of frame, as he is traipsing over the sewing at moment of photo.
The sewing on the side seam, inside. A 1.2cm seam allowance has been folded and rolled over in such a way that all raw edges are tucked away, hidden and secured, and that is then sewn on with tiny whipstitch. The right side is being sewn, the left side still has the raw seam allowance out. Sini's fairly bloodless thumb holding onto the sewing, rest of the fingers partially visible through the sheer fabric.

Handsewing historically accurately but mainly in the sense that both the sewists of yore and I do it this way bc neither of us have access to a functioning machine whereas historical costuming purists absolutely could use a machine but dont for the aesthetic

Come at me purists, the sewists of yesteryear absolutely would have used a machine if theyd had it and you know it

The log cabin quilt swatches. It’s a matter of taste, but I am not loving the pink and white combo. The cream/white looks better to me. Happy to take other views on board. The scissors are for scale because think it’s harder sometimes with just a ruler to see how small this is. I did of course make a mistake in the piecing of the cream one but if you don’t tell I won’t mention it!!! The finished patches are tacked in the seam allowance, so larger than the actual size. #MiniQuilt #No52 #quilting #HandSewing

Two tiny log cabin pattern patches the upper one on a pink-white colourway and the lower one is a cream-white colour contrast so very similar but it still shows in the patch. Thee is a mini craft ruler to the right and a pair of small embroidery scissors to the left. The patches are one and a sixth of an inch square.

I'm working on doing something about the frayed cuffs on a favorite hoodie. I left to get a cup of tea. In just a few minutes, Kona (a cat) chewed 5 holes in it. Five!!! I managed to rescue the fabric for one of them, but the rest have to be patched. Cuff mending is on hold.

Kona says: The white stuff is better than the green. Excellent mouth feel. 10/10 would chew again.

A hoodie sweatshirt arranged to show all the places my cat chewed holes in it, which are circled in yellow, all but one on the fuzzy lining. One, next to the little scissors, is all but invisible. Two have been patched with flannel hexagons with a rosebud pattern and one more is about to get one, too. The fifth one is on the green outside.
