#RWNJ #JacintaPrice's #defection to the #LiberalParty has been condemned by one insider as a #hostile takeover attempt & a form of "desperate branch stacking" to boost #AngusTaylor's #leadership hopes.

"The Liberal party room is my natural home given the Liberal Party is the freedom party, the party of responsibility," she told Sky. 🤢🤢🤮

ABC News · Price defection slammed as Taylor and Ley confirm plans to runBy Jacob Greber

Gina Rinehart’s deep pockets are again shaping Australian politics — this time with a Trump-style twist. She’s funnelling millions into conservative causes and backing fringe candidates ahead of the next election. The mining magnate’s growing influence raises big questions about the role of billionaire money in our democracy.

The Guardian · Gina Rinehart urges Liberals to stick with Trump-like policies in the wake of election lossBy Sarah Basford Canales

News Corp owns much of the Liberals' spectacular defeat. The Liberal Party needs to wake up: News Corp is a foreign-owned media empire pushing division, resentment and fear — not good policy. Its alliance with the Liberals serves the Murdochs and shareholders, not Australians. And it pays zero tax here. #auspol #murdochmedia #liberalparty #MurdochRoyalCommission

Crikey · News Corp owns much of the Liberals’ spectacular defeat. If they want more of them, keep goingBy Bernard Keane

What the #LiberalParty itself needs to understand is that #NewsCorp is a foreign-owned communications business, with its own agenda of #fostering #hatred, #resentment and #division in order to sell advertising and subscriptions. Its alliance with the Liberals is in pursuit of those goals — not in pursuit of good policy. Its best interests are those of the Murdochs and other shareholders that are paramount to News Corp’s business model (which, let us remember, pays not a single cent of tax in Australia), not those of Australians.

That’s why News Corp will always encourage the Liberals to pursue policies that punch downward, that divide and alienate, that are about culture wars targeting minorities. We can complain about the toxic effects of fostering division and resentment, but in the words of that eminent statesman, Michael Corleone, it’s not personal, Sonny, it’s strictly business.

Good for them. Maybe the insanity isn't catching. The truth will prevail.

Canadian voters backed Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberal Party on Monday.

Canada’s Liberal Party and Prime Minister Mark Carney are projected to stay in power as the country digs in on Trump’s trade war

"President Donald Trump injected himself into the race with his tariffs on Canadian imports and insistence that Canada should become the 51st U.S. state."

Day 29 🔥🥷🏭🏗️

“The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (#ACCC) has been asked to investigate allegedly misleading claims made by #AustraliansForNaturalGas, a pro-gas group with directors who include a #GasIndustryExecutive and a #Liberal candidate running in the federal election.

Lawyers acting for #ClimateIntegrity, a not-for-profit focused on corporate accountability, have filed a complaint with the ACCC. They argue that the website and advertising materials of Australians for Natural Gas have failed to disclose its directors’ links to the gas industry and #LiberalParty, and overinflated the role of gas in the economy and energy transition.

On its website, Australians for Natural Gas describes itself as a “not-for-profit organisation representing the interests of #AussieHouseholds, industries and producers”. The company was registered in January 2025 with #JoelRiddle and #NathanielSmith among its directors, according to information provided to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

Riddle is the chief executive of the gas company #TamboranResources, which holds the largest share of acreage in the #BeetalooBasin, according to the company’s website. Smith was installed as the Liberal candidate for the New South Wales seat of #Whitlam after the party’s initial choice was disendorsed, and was a member of the NSW parliament from 2019 to 2023.”
