Monsters have babies too.
Baby monsters are even harder to find than the elusive "baby" pigeon. Very few folks can say that they've seen them, let alone created their portraits. I have been lucky. As you might imagine, monster parents can be a bit protective. Mothers in particular. They consider us (humans) more than a bit strange and potentially dangerous. It took most of my free time, lots of monster "treats" and carefully followed Monster Etiquette to befriend just a few of them. Even then, I felt a bit nervous and on edge as I made sketches of their most beloved offspring. It is always a good idea to remind oneself that monsters are ultimately unpredictable creatures, and should be given proper respect at all times.

Against a brilliant blue sky, with just a hint of mountains in the distance, a teeny baby monster trembles with uncertainty on its mothers scaly leg, grasping her long sharp claw for balance. It nervously stares (at me) with large bulging eyes, while the other hand is clamped firmly in its mouth. Bright scales of chartreuse, vivid orange and crimson red cover the body of this wee creature, accompanied by slender candy-cane-like curved horns atop its bald green head. The #Hereward Community Rail Partnership (CRP) has upgraded its website into a comprehensive hub for travel and tourism in North #Cambridgeshire, thanks to over £4,000 of funding from Greater Anglia’s Customer and Community Improvement Fund. The Hereward line, covering #Peterborough, #Whittlesea, #March, #Manea, and #Ely, now benefits from a revamped website featuring drone footage, travel guides, itineraries, interactive and walking/cycling maps. The upgrade aims to inspire sustainable rail-based tourism and make travel planning easier. Wendy Otter from Fenland District Council praised the improvements for promoting local tourism and accessibility, while Greater Anglia’s Scott Dolling highlighted the railway’s commitment to supporting local communities. The fund supports community-led rail projects that bring local and societal benefits across the Greater Anglia network.

My REAL Imaginary Friend
Some say that friends must be actual physical beings to count as REAL. Why, I ask? I have REAL imaginary friends who are quite lovely and can be most helpful in a pinch. When I'm having a really bad day, need a bit of advice, or if I'm just feeling blue, my REAL imaginary friends are exactly the ones I want around for comfort. No complaining or whining about THEIR troubles. No attention sucking smart phones to distract them from listening to you. And, the best part is, you can call up the exact friend for listening or guidance when needed, instantly!

Four legs gently grip a soft cloud. It's long pink body is adorned with subtle patterns of flowering shapes and its translucent scales glow periwinkle blue. Gossamer wings unfold. Sleepy Monster in a Teacup
Humans aren't the only ones who enjoy a spot of tea now and again. Little monsters have been know to slip quietly into kitchens when no one is around and sneak a sip of two of freshly brewed sweetness. This sleepy creature drank a bit too much sweet jasmine tea and found it hard to stay awake. Shhhhhh...

Crammed into a doorway, between the night landscape outside and brightness within, an anxious assortment of strange beasties are wedged together. Some appear puzzled, others gleeful, most are simply curious. One bold orange creature leaps with abandon into the glowing space, joining several floating/flying books and strangely shaped objects. Their mysterious adventure continues...
