#watching Ride or Die about the #NW200. I don't have a motorcycle license nor any wish to ride at the kind of speeds these guys and girls ride at but films like this, as with TT3D: Closer To The Edge, are strangely compelling. #Motorcycling

BBC iPlayerRide or DieThree motorcycle road racers prepare for the North West 200, the fastest and most dangerous of races. They ask whether they are risking death, testing faith or truly living?

#Introduction

I’m in #infosec. I currently live in #NovaScotia but moving to #BritishColumbia this summer.

I have many dogs. They’re all small, one so small she only has three legs. She was injured before we got her out of the Texas rescue system. I learned these doggos are called #tripawds which I think is very clever.

My main “hobby” is #motorcycling. I currently have a Vulcan Nomad 1700.

I have worked remotely from my house for almost a decade. The life balance can’t be beat.

Had a late lesson today, 6pm-7:40pm. Though I was well-rested and the conditions were OK (it was dark, 3 °C and slightly rainy, visibility was good) I wasn't in my element.

I think I'm not comfortable in the dark and it messes with my basics, like shoulder checks and keeping/creating distance. I really messed up in those departments a few times today.

Learning's not a linear process. Still: this is annoying.

I was out on two pretty wheels tonight for two hours from 4:30pm.

Fairly unfriendly conditions! 0 °C + fog + dark, about 500m of sight. Quite the eye-opener what such humid coldness does to focus, even with proper winter gear.
Now I know better how that affects me and what I need to pay extra attention to if I end up in those conditions again.

Not the easiest ride but overall I did okay and learned things :)
