Not only do they distrust science that does not correspond to their worldview. Compared to liberal Americans, their trust is also lower in fields that contribute to economic growth and productivity. Short interventions aimed at strengthening trust have little effect. This is apparent from new research by social psychologists at the University of Amsterdam, which has now been published in Nature Human Behaviour.

I had not thought of the #conflictofinterest here but now that you mention it.

It is easier to see with #Musk who is slashing & burning #government agencies, including #NASA, while selling #spaceflight services to the government.

In this case there is the element of #publictrust that citizens should have in the #fourthestate in conflict with the desire to sell #IT services to the government.

Of course so many other news services are #BendingTheKnee, paying out in lawsuits, etc...
