@markstos @opencollective It’s a valid concern! is cheap, but it’s by no means the only option out there. It’s also commoditized (s3) so providers can be easily switched. We also think by keeping a focused library of public content, storage costs can be more than sustainable!

Data durability is also very important, which is why we maintain backups, are joining the Open Collective Foundation, and operated as a collective of urbanism-related creators! (Check out our Matrix for more on that)

@markstos Great question! Storage is via : costs are $15/tb/mo. Bandwidth is essentially free (just per-object read operations at $0.36 / million requests).

We're currently setting up @opencollective for completely transparent expenses and budgeting (opencollective.com/uv).
